Briggs & Stratton
To make room for additional inventory, the primary Briggs & Stratton Distribution Center added 150,000 sq. ft. onto its existing facility. The building addition needed a way to effectively store over 30,000 more SKUs and facilitate expedited order fulfillment. As a result, an addition that consisted of constructing and outfitting a mezzanine was put in place. This project was completed three months ahead of schedule and under budget.

An improved distribution system was required to manage the inventory and retrieval process and reach a pick volume of 15,000 per day. To meet Certco's customer delivery expectations, the project had to be completed within 9 months.

Axiom, Inc. worked closely with a contracted architectural firm to design a clean and open facility that offered room for expansion, yet created an inviting atmosphere. We provided space efficient periodical displays, computer workstations, and media storage cabinets for DVDs, tapes and CDs, as well as cantilever shelving with customized top and end panels for the large book inventory. Special lighting was also installed on the shelving to illuminate books and make the titles easier to read. After the shelving and storage systems were installed, more than 50,000 books and periodicals from the old location were relocated to the new facility.
